Anna writes: Angie and I braved the elements and went along to the first of 8 ladies league races at the Boot Inn (behind the airport) on Wednesday night. It was a well organised race and all the girls taking part, mostly cyclists and some triathletes, were really friendly and were of all levels.

There were about 20 girls taking part and they staggered the start according to abilities. The race is around a flat 5 mile loop and they usually do 4 or 5 laps depending on the night...

I would encourage anyone who wants to improve their cycling to come down to these races. They are held every two weeks, entry is ?5, there are prizes for 1st to 6th place and you even get a free cuppa tea and biscuit afterwards!

Hope to see more Tsunami members there for the next race on Wednesday the 5th of May. Contact Dolores Usher for details (and directions to the start) at 086 2302573. During office hours, info is also available from Cycling Ireland at 01 8551522.
