10K Charity Training Run Report

Daithi writes in with a follow on from the run on Saturday. "Many thanks to all who took part in the club charity training run on Saturday morning. The turnout of members and their friends was fantastic. The main focus of the event was to raise money for charity and it looks like the final figure will be around ?1000 in donations, which will be matched by the club. So well done to everybody - competitors, volunteers, coaches and supporters."

"Now down to business. The results make interesting reading. It appears that a good majority of us (including myself) are not very good at estimating our ability. Still, this serves as a good baseline for the next club run..."

Top three finishers including the handicap (estimated time):

Cronan Dooley 39:50 (55min)
Eamonn Walsh 45:35 (60min)
Lyle Goodwin 47:23 (60min)

Top three male finishers excluding the handicap (estimated time):

Tom Kelly 36:30 (38min)
Éimhín McManus 39:44 (36min)
Cronan Dooley 39:50 (55min)

Top three female finishers excluding the handicap (estimated time):

Jean Wilson 40:19 (43min)
Mary Horgan 46:27 (50min)
Edel Crehan 47:38 (50min)

All you lovers of statistics will have great fun playing around with the data in the results file.

Also, thanks to Dave Tilly for providing the milk drinks.

Swimmingly, Bikingly, Runningly,

Daithi

Going on the photo here it could have been number 33, Michael Dooley, who dropped the red hat.
