Well Done to All who completed or even attempted the Wicklow 200.

This year it seamed to need some extra effort to complete with everyone going through highs and lows at different stages and by the time you reach sally’s gap your fit for nothing…not even one of those energy bars.

A full race report is being prepared by Niall at present and will be issued shortly...

The report will provide coverage of the days events and help on what not to do when you spot a 50 euro note on the ground while riding in a pack of 20 cyclists.

In relation to the biggest question of the day "who the **** is Sally or where did the name come from I found the following:

The Sally Gap is the highest crossroads in Ireland. According to one local legend St. Patrick died here and was taken off to paradise on a white steed by Oisín. Yes, the selfsame bloke who went off with golden-haired Niamh for a lifetime and a half to Tir na Nóg. Sally Gap comes from "gap in the saddle" (Bearnas na diallaite in Irish), referring to St. Patrick’s space on the horse behind Oisín presumably, and is nothing to do with the actual shape of the gap or willow trees or Sally O’Brien from the beer ads (whatever happened to her?).

Little help when you're trying to reach the top!!!
