Kilkee Race Update

It's Kilkee's 21ST Birthday this year

Limerick Tri Club have almost 400 competitors entered to date with some of the countrys big names and recent race winners entered. Trevour Woods has now entered to see if another Munster Man can topple the BBC aka Brian Crinnion off his excelllent winning streak! Other big names to watch will be Aidan Woods, Eanna McGrath, Ian Lyle, Liam Dunne and I still have €20 on Pat Burke at 387:1 with Paddy Powers to make it home in first place! But there are plenty of other names in the field who could easily upset the balance on race day including Limerick Man Mark Dempsey who is in great form and has been holding himself back to be in the best shape for Kilkee!!! In the ladies event Rachel Beck, Lisa Horgan, Orla Tuohy, Tara Nolan and Aoife O'Connor all look set for a close Battle, but they will be quickly followed by a very competitive ladies field right behind them...As well as the usual prize money and trophies we have managed to secure some beautiful European Triathlon Union Medals for the Top 3 winners.........so this is your chance to get your hands on a gold ETU medal folks!

Race Registration:
Kilkee Bay Hotel: Friday 24th June 7pm-9pm (only 1 member from each relay team is needed to register)The Kilkee Bay hotel is on your left hand side on the way into Town coming from Ennis direction, its big and yellow and you can't miss it!There will be a very limited availability to register on the sat morning at 8.30-9am. This will close at 9am and nobody will be allowed to register after 9am. Race Start 10am Sharp!

It's Kilkee's 21ST Birthday this year, so we are making a big effort to make it the best race ever. We have secured a very full and worthwhile Competitors Bag which you will recieve upon registration......there's no mayonaise or bottles of vinegar like you get at some races! There's energy bars, gels, cool t-shirts, bits for your bike and a lot more! On the Day of the race we will have on site Mechanics on-site to tweak those gears, fix those last minute punctures and get your machines in flying condition for the testing bike course! There will also be a host of Bike Shops and Tri-Shops with gear on Display, so if you want to go that 5% faster, they just might have the tri-item that'll take you to the line 1 minute faster than you competitor! Maximize Sports Foods have come on board with us and will, as well as providing products in the Goodie Bag, will be providing Energy Drinks on the Run course. There will also be water available on the run too.........these products have been tried and tested by Dodgy-Stomach-Horgan (me) and they work just Great! If I'm not good enough proof, the products are also used by The Discovery Channel Professional Cycling Team – the team of Lance Armstrong, 6 time Tour de France winner, and Saunier Duval, Phonak, Chocolade Jaques Professional Cycling Teams, Cycling Ireland National Team and Numerous Tri-Athletes around the globe !!! Ya can't really argue with that now can you?
