Pack your training gear away for the night and get out the party hats and beer-bongs for the annual club knees-up/end-of-year bash and AGM! Don't miss it!  Read on for more...

The events committee have scoped out various other venues (sampled might be a better word!), however Ocean Bar has again been deemed to be the best venue! The event is open to all Piranha members and partners; all welcome, starting at 8pm (arrive early for a drink!). There will be finger food laid on by the club, and after the bar closes, there may be further excursions…!
Click here for directions and a map to the Ocean Bar.

The general format, subject to change, will be:

  2. Best Female (national series)

  12. Best race report
  13. Best Dressed (male or female – a somewhat tongue-in-cheek award for those who have surpassed themselves with outfits! Previous winners being big Jimmy for wearing Amanda’s bikini following the loss of a bet in Italy, or Anne O’Leary for genuine best dressed!)
  14. Random other spot prizes…!

1-5 are obviously clear cut depending on results, but send your nominations for any or all of 7-14 here (before Thurs 15th) or any other suggestions if you think someone deserves a prize…!

As usual, two important elements of the AGM are the consideration of any new resolutions to improve the club and the election of the Management Committee for the coming year:

If you have any suggestions regarding the running or operation of your club, please send them here, big or small, so that they can be considered by the committee for the AGM, and if necessary, any major resolutions can then be considered and voted for at the AGM.

The Piranha Tri Committee and Sub-Committees consist of club members who contribute to running various aspects of the club and essentially keep the show on the road! The main Committee looks after the management of the club and takes decisions affecting the club. It is comprised of the following positions:

Club members will be elected to these positions for 2008 at the AGM. If you would be interested in taking up one of these positions or wish to nominate someone for a position for 2008, please mail either myself or one of the other committee members, or of course just nominate someone on the night. Candidates will be nominated, seconded and voted on at the AGM.

All of the sections mentioned below have a sub-committee of club members who help out in that area. This is a great way to get involved in the club, even in a very small way, and have a say in the running of your club. The more people that contribute to the club, the stronger and better the club becomes. We are always looking for more people to get on board, so if you would like to help out in any way for 2008, please get in touch with the head of the relevant section or any of the committee, either by email or in person. To peek your interest as to what area might interest you or what you could do, below is a quick synopsis of what each section does in the club. We are encouraging lots of people to get involved for 2008 so don’t be backward in coming forward!
