    Hi all,

    INTRODUCTION
The first of Piranha’s NS “strategic” races in 2018, Tri 795 Carlow took place yesterday (20th May 2018) and it was a Sprint distance event (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run).

Thanks to Siobhan Forman, John Wallnutt and Ivan Eustace for the excellent race brief! (that I haven’t read).

This is my first report of Piranha’s NS races in 2018, and if you want it to continue please, please, contact me after races to share stories and insider views of yourselves or others around you …
Otherwise I’ll threaten to quit “A la Marlon” and only a personalised video message from Javier Gomez himself could buy me back! (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisco_Javier_G%C3%B3mez_Noya).

Still, thanks to a couple of charitable souls who offered some help (Roisin Pakenham, Enda Traynor, John Wallnutt), and a few from whom I “extracted” help (Barry McIntyre, Claire Gorman, John Lyons) 🙂

I’ve some ideas that might develop over time, but suggestions/preferences are welcome!

Given my mother tongue is other than Queenie’s I’d appreciate all lexical, semantic and syntactic corrections you might spot, this would quench my thirst of knowledge and pathological perfectionism. You can send them to:
    PFO!@yahoo.com

In spite of the scary weather forecasts earlier in the week, I’m told it rained a little only, just fine for the bike section which is where it could get sketchy.

TI reported “… river measuring a warm 15C …”, John Lyons is not so sure, he has been building up resilience to cold in WW plunge pool for months now and said … “If I was cold the others spelt it Baltic”.

    SUPPORTERS
There were out in good numbers, some quite vociferous apparently!
Mirian and Svetlana cycled down from Dublin.
Drove down: Nikki HC, Eimear McHugh, Roisin Pakenham, Bernard Hanratty, Barry McIntyre.
Jacqui Dunphy and Dave O’Shea cycled back after racing (!!).
Poor Barry McIntyre got an unfixable car puncture, thankfully rescued by fellow Piranhas.

The words “Go M!” where the most popular, and lasted for longer too 🙂

Mark McInnerney toasted from Lisbon, he plunged into a race himself to celebrate how young he’s become…
