    Hello All,

Groups 1 meeting at Westwood at 8.20am for an 8.30am departure
Groups 2, 3 and 4 meeting at Yellow House at 8.50am for a 9.00am departure

Group 1 – Enniskerry – Bike Lead John Lyons
    Group 2 – 60Km – 1,100M Climb – Bike Anne-Marie Cook – Route HERE
    Group 3 – 80km – 1,500M Climb – Bike Lead Conal Heron – Route HERE
    Group 4 – 100km – 1,550M Climb – Bike Lead Ivan Eustace – Route HERE

Note that routes on Mapmyride refer to Easter cycles – but these are for May 28th. Also note that the G4 100km is BIG cycle – so please make sure that this group only has strong cyclists who have the time to complete the course. The G3 80km may be a sufficiently demanding cycle.

These are hilly cycles so agreeing re-group points along the hills are important as the groups naturally spread out. But please remember good bike discipline:

** There is one cycle lead – and that person is responsible for the route.
** Tight two by two groups, with regular up-and-overs and with a single-file transition are the hallmarks of a disciplined cycle group. No “half wheeling”!
** Each group has a target average speed – this should be maintained. Surges in speed (lead from the front) leads to a dragging-out of the group and members get left behind.
** Traffic lights must be obeyed – pedestrian and traffic!
** Groups should not break-up on the flat. If they do, then they should re-group as soon as reasonably practicable.

    Note:
Sunday, 4th June – West Wicklow (Blessington) for All Groups.

    Have a great cycle.

    Bernard

PS: If you have favourite routes you’d like included – please PM me via WhatsApp. Nobody has given me any routes yet!!!
