    Hello All, Greetings from Brunei!

Lets keep the Sunday Cycle going!!! We’ve been suffering from low numbers on the Sunday cycle recently, but we did have a marked increase in numbers last Sunday! Let’s keep it up! It is good for the legs, and for the social fabric of the club, to get a group out for a not-too-demanding Sunday Cycle.

Tomorrow we meet at Westwood at 8.20am for an 8.30am departure.

Group 1 will be doing hill repeats and some breaking-techniques on Howth Hill under the leadership of the inimitable John Lyons.
Group 2/3 will be formed if there are sufficient numbers for a separate group. A leader will be present to lead a 60-70km mid-paced cycle.

    Please remember good bike discipline:

** There is one cycle lead – and that person is responsible for the route.
** Tight two by two groups, with regular up-and-overs and with a single-file transition are the hallmarks of a disciplined cycle group. No “half wheeling”!
** Each group has a target average speed – this should be maintained. Surges in speed (lead from the front) leads to a dragging-out of the group and members get left behind.
** Traffic lights must be obeyed – pedestrian and traffic!
** Groups should not break-up on the flat. If they do, then they should re-group as soon as reasonably practicable.

    Have a great cycle.

    Bernard

PS: Have a great night tonight – sorry not to be able to join you!!!
