Sunday, September 07 2008 @ 12:27 PM IST Triathlone newbieIt is well worth a read as he is quite an interesting bloke with a funny reflective style of describing his experience ... but I would advise reading it at lunch time or else the boss will definitely catch you reading it !!! Gatorade Dublin City Triathlon
Hi All,
![]() On behalf of everyone in the club I want to thank Greg on a fantastic job of running the Gatorade Dublin City Triathlon in the Phoenix Park today. There have been some memorable DCTs down the years and this will certainly rank with the best. Despite the challenges which the bad summer presented in the lead up to the race, the weather gods were firmly with us today! And as Greg acknowledged at the prize giving, it would not be possible without the help and support of the wider committee and volunteers. The efforts of the volunteers from the early start on Saturday until the Boat Clubs were finally back to normal early this evening ensured the success of the race. Its not possible to run this race without the efforts of every volunteer who helps out so a big thanks and well done to all. Congratulations to our winners today - David Graham and Sinead Jennings. They following in the steps of some illustrious company as winners of DCT. However my personal highlight of the day was the Paddy Power Dream Team of our own club swimming coach Chantal Gibney, Ciaran Power and Catherina McKiernan coming in ahead of the pack and in the process securing 10000 euro for the Irish Cancer Society. Thanks to Chantal, Ciaran and Catherina for their time and efforts today and also to Paddy Power for the generous donation. To conclude, I think Greg did such a good job as Race Director he should do it again next year! Matt.
