RDJ Dublin City Triathlon is one of the most important events in the club calendar, and every year our members play a vital role in making the race happen. As a club-run event, we rely on volunteers across race weekend, and all club members are expected to help where possible.
As part of our commitment to recognising those who contribute to the success of DCT, the club will offer a limited number of racing places to Piranha members for the 2026 event.
Racing Place Allocation
A maximum of 10 club members may be selected to race in Dublin City Triathlon 2026. Successful applicants may choose to compete in any of the race distances offered, with normal race entry fees applying.
All selected athletes are still expected to volunteer on Friday 21 August as part of the event setup or registration.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Priority will be given to members who have demonstrated a consistent commitment to volunteering and contributing to the club. In assessing applications, the club committee will consider:
- Number of years as a Piranha member
- Number of years volunteering at Dublin City Triathlon
- Active involvement as a club volunteer, lead or committee member
- Contribution to National Series club team competitions
- Potential contribution towards National Series age-group or overall awards
- Committee discretion
In addition, no member will normally be permitted to race Dublin City Triathlon in two consecutive years
