Swim Coaches:
Mark Waters
“Having misspent much of my youth swimming I decided to give triathlon a bash after over a decade of keeping unfit back in 2007. From sprint to Olympic to middle and long distance Triatlons I’ve learnt the hard way that it’s not all about the swim. Combining knowledge from my own experiences and background I feel lucky to be able to work with swimmers of all levels to enjoy their swimming, to challenge limitations and get more from every hour spent chasing feet.
I’ve coached for over a decade at this stage (where does the time go) with various clubs taking groups and individuals in the open water and pools. I’ve Level 2 Swim Ireland teaching and coaching and the Triathlon Ireland Level 2 coaching course, but constantly learning. Challenging what was, to swim faster, easier and longer isn’t easy but it is about giving it a go, sticking with a change, practicing the simple things and having fun.
Triathlon isn’t all about the swim, but it can be a great way to start any day!“
