Piranha will host Dublin City Triathlon on Saturday 22 August 2026. DCT is one of Ireland’s largest triathlon events, and once again the Sprint Race has been selected for Triathlon Ireland’s National Series. Stuart Russell has been appointed Race Director for 2026, and preparations are already underway.
The Committee is now seeking applications for the Assistant Race Director role. This is a paid position. Please send applications to clubsecretary@piranhatri.com and chair@piranhatri.com by Friday 19 December. Include details of any previous DCT involvement or relevant experience. The Committee will make a decision shortly after the closing date. Stuart is happy to talk through the role with anyone interested.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Delivery
- Support the Race Director in planning and executing all aspects of DCT.
- Assist with logistics, permits, and venue coordination.
Marketing & Sponsorship
- Work with the Race Director on marketing strategy to drive strong participation and spectator engagement.
- Support sponsorship strategy, attract new partners, and manage sponsor relationships.
Course Management
- Collaborate with the Race Director and Course Leads on course design, mapping, and safety.
- Oversee course setup, marking, and breakdown.
Athlete Management
- Provide clear, timely communication to athletes.
- Support registration processes and maintain accurate participant data.
Volunteer Coordination
- Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with training and managing race-day volunteers.
