KeymasterMassive congrats to Sean Barry who has just qualified for Kona finishing 2nd in the 40-44 age group in Ironman Chattanooga in a time of 9:55:07!
These Kona qualifiers are like buses – you wait 15 years and then 2 come at once!!!

ParticipantCongrats Sean on qualifying for Kona. Great time – especially that bike time on a bike course that is 6km longer than normal I believe! Enjoy the R&R now.

ParticipantTks for the congrats. Yeah I’ve taken a slot all right. Yeah I’ll have to get stuck into the swimming now 🙂 Seem to be getting slower the whole time!
The bike course is 6k too long and also rolling with not really any flat sections. The run course is also tough.
However the race is very well organised and the Americans are great for encouragement. I think they were shouting half way through the bike ‘you got this’ you have to laugh.
I’ll so up a race report my brother in law lives there but you never know someone else my do it.
