ParticipantThere was some great racing from the Piranhas at the National Middle Distance Champs in Kenmare over the weekend.
Aileen Flynn put in a stong bike and the fastest female run split of the day to win her first national championship title. With 7km to go, she was 5 minutes behind the leader and 3 minutes behind 2nd place so she gave us all the best of surprises when she came storming towards the finish line in first place.
The Piranha men also put in some good performances with Jonathan Maguire and John Walnutt coming first in their respective age groups.
Well done to everyone else on what undoubtedly has to be one of the most iconic races on the triathlon ireland calendar.
