ParticipantHeard this morning that some of the Dublin beaches have banned swimming because of water quality, one of those being Sandymount. Would it still be ok to swim at Bull Wall?

AnthonyMKeymasterThe report about Sandymount mentions south wall too which is only 1km from bull wall… I’d say it’d be fine but maybe Portmarnock or Seapoint would be better…..

ParticipantThey have also mentioned tests at Kiliney so it might be best to avoid Dublin bay thid weekend?

ParticipantOne of the lads at work has been swimming in Ringsend basin. He says the water quality is fine. Anybody know if it’s allowed. Maybe an option for Saturday morning swim?

KeymasterHi All,
I’d definitely be interested in a Saturday morning open water swim too.
Is this planned to go ahead tomorrow, btw?
Thanks,

ParticipantWe’re going ahead this Saturday at 11am at the bull wall.
If anyone has a sit on top kayak or a even a surf board they can lend that would be an enormous help.
Please post up if you are attending so we’ve an idea of numbers – WE MAY NEED SOME STRONGER SWIMMERS TO HELP SO POST UP IF YOU CAN HELP OUT 🙂
Minimum swim proficiency of 200m continuously in open water, open sea preferably.
