ParticipantAs we roll on towards the end of the season it would seem like it was a very quiet weekend racing wise..
However one luck Piranha was racing in California at Ironaman 70.3 Santa Cruz, Marco Viappaini completed the race in 5 hours 22 minutes…
Please post if I missed anyone

ParticipantWell done to our Bike Captain, Ian “Casso” Cassidy, who in the last week….
(a) came 3rd in the Charleville 2 day A2/A3 cycling race (as an A3 rider). Two promising Irish juniors pipped Casso to victory but he got promoted to an A2 rider as a result and then…
(b) came 9th in the A1 / A2 Laragh Classic on Sunday in biblical conditions. Casso was the 1st A2 rider and thus is the A2 Leinster champ! I believe this means a further promotion to A1!Chapeau Casso!

Phil SykesParticipantCongratulations, Marco. Sounds like a great place to be racing – certainly compared to here at the moment.
Well done, Casso: that’s some progress in a very short space of time! You must have needed flippers on Sunday in Laragh. I was heading down round Newcastle/Ashford when the heavens opened. Turned and headed for home: by which time the rain had stopped!

ParticipantThanks, no I’m an A2 still, A1 is a whole level up again. Yeah was pretty brutal conditions it’s a hard enough race without that weather.
