    Hi Piranha’s,

I’m new to the club and hopefully this won’t be my last helpful post.

I bought a Garmin Edge 500 about 3 years ago and the mounting clips on it broke at IM Louisville this year which cause me no end of frustration as I had to go fetch it from the side of the road 3 times before I found a bit of velcro to strap it on.

So I did some research and besides costing about 100 euros to get it repaired, there is a new company making replacement mounts for Garmin devices called Dogearsgps (http://www.dogearsgps.com/). I just put one on last night and it works perfectly. Worth the effort of ordering one from the US for about 25 euros.

Let me know and I can send some photos on.

If it’s the out-front mount, then there’s a generic alternative on Amazon with free delivery to Ireland.

    Hey John,

It’s actually the mounting clips on the Garmin device itself rather than the bar mount. It seems that the wings on the circular mount under the device can get worn down with repeated use and can snap off completely.
