Guys – 23 days to go and only 6 Piranhas have signed up – this is a poor showing for one of key events of the year and one that directly benefits a very worthy cause.

So get the finger out – sign up or else I will come a calling to crack some limbs!!

    With love

    All,

The John Davis Run, the annual club charity event, takes place TOMORROW 3 WEEKS.

    https://www.piranhatri.com/piranha-news/john-davis-run-2015-sign-up-asap/

This is an event where members can “give something back” in the form of fundraising for the Irish Cancer Society, and by participating and volunteering at the event – both for the benefit of other Piranha’s partaking, and for other participants of the St. Anne’s Park Run, who have been kind enough to let us hold the event with them.

It’s a good event to race in, and more importantly, to meet other Piranhas, many of whom you may not have met before, in an informal social sports gathering, both at and after the event. It will also be good to join St. Anne’s Parkrun in celebrating THEIR 100th PARKRUN EVENT THE SAME DAY.

At a time when numbers in the club have never been as high, and when there is huge club spirit, both socially and in competition, it is, however, a bit of a shock to see that we currently don’t even have enough people signed up to HOLD the event, not to mention making it a success. Numbers and donations are considerably down on this stage of previous years.

I, for one, have seen first hand how much we all get from the club this year, and many of us have really benefited from the club structure throughout 2015 and this year’s racing season.

This event is an opportunity to give back to the club and, in turn, to help the club contribute something to charity, and I would appeal to all members to take a few hours out on the 3rd October to come along, bring friends, help out, race, socialise with club members (especially some of the oldies who we NEVER see otherwise!!!) and throw something into the MyCharity.ie page kitty while you’re at it…

So c’mon Piranhas – let’s make it a good one!

Come on Piranhas – 8 sign ups?????

This time last year we had approx 50 Piranhas out and it was a super event …..

I will now start to harass people in swimming etc – so to save yourself from the indignity of being nagged by a man in speedos – sign up and get onboard!

    Hi Folks,

many thanks to the 45 Piranha’s who have contributed to the John Davis Fund Raising so far. We have achieved 60% percent of the financial target.

There are 80% of the membership who haven’t had a chance to contribute yet. €5.00 would be great, even €1.00 – we would just like to see as much participation as possible. So c’mon – sign up for a great race and top-up the charity fund!

    Hello All.

Well done to the 45 Piranha’s who have contributed to the John Davis Charity Fund – now at over 60% of the target sum.

To the 80% of members who haven’t had a chance to make a contribution yet, get your skates on!! €5.00 or even €1.00 is an important contribution to the cause. Participation is more important as the sum involved – we just want as many Piranha’s to be a part of the day as possible.

    As Marie provided above:

    Sign-up to ParkRun here: http://www.parkrun.ie/register/
    Sign-up to run here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vWVDyB-NlCelzkTkzuAVxR_EQxWvS4C76yx8jQa18L4/edit?usp=sharing
    Contribute here: http://www.mycharity.ie/event/thejohndavisrun/

I’m having a nice bit of R&R here in NYC. I look forward to seeing you all soon,

    Bernard
