In memory of Karen Fenton, a Committee member and a Piranha who sadly passed away in April, the Club have arranged for silicone wrist bands for club members who would like to commemorate her. We would particularly appreciate it if members would consider wearing one during the Cobh Jailbreak race. This was Karen’s local race of which she was very proud and which she had intended to compete in. Some of her family will be racing this weekend in Cobh in her memory.
We will be giving out the wrist bands after swimming training in Westwood this Thursday and Friday, as well as before the race in Cobh to anyone who would like one. In exchange, we kindly ask that you consider a donation of a fiver to the Karen Fenton Ovarian Cancer Fund, a very worthy cause:

Karen was passionate about sustainability and the environment. She was a huge advocate of the KeepCup – a reusable coffee cup – and took one everywhere she went. Her friends have designed a KeepCup in her memory that is available at the following link:
