I did this swim last year and will go again on Sunday:

Registration on the day 10-11.15 am, race starts @11.40, £20 (pounds) – plus £10 if you want a 1-1 kayak ratio.
It says 4.8km but last year it was 3.5, I emailed them and it seems to be 3.5km (I hope so!).
Plan is to drive up north on Sunday morning leaving at 9.15.
I can give a lift to a couple of people if you are interested and not afraid of a left hand driver 🙂
