    Hi all

Following on from some feedback from our swim venues, coaches and members please take a moment to refresh yourself on our swim session house-keeping/lane etiquette so that we can all enjoy our swim sessions. Lanes remain unusually busy for this time of the year so please remember to use Glofox for all sessions.

    PIRANHA HOUSE-KEEPING/RULES

    1. Punctuality: Coaches have requested that this must improve. Members must be on deck a few minutes prior to the session start time. Arriving late disrupts the session for others. We will continue to monitor this with our coaches but may introduce a strikes system on Glofox for repeat offenders.
    2. If you’re not signed up on Glofox or are on the waitlist, please don’t attend the session.
    3. If joining a swim lane to warm up prior to the club session start time, please respect any WW/UCD members who are finishing their swim set in the lane. Reminder, we have the first two swim lanes in WW booked from 6.30am on Tuesdays for members who want to get a longer swim in.
    4. Members should attend a max of three swim sessions per week.
    5. For 7am swim sessions, if you can’t attend please cancel your slot before 9pm on the evening before to give those on the waitlist sufficient notice to arrange to attend.
    6. If you need to leave a session a little early, mention it to the coach at the start. Be conscious of fellow members on the waitlist if repeatedly only swimming a shorter portion of the full session.
    7. Members must not use WW or UCD facilities (gym etc) if not a member of the gym facilities. Westwood have been in touch to let us know that Piranha club members who are not WW members have been using the gym and that this will not be tolerated and is being monitored by WW.
    8. If driving to WW and not a WW member, the overflow car park must be used.

    LANE ETIQUETTE

    1. Let each person finish their length by moving to one side of the lane.
    2. Leave 5 seconds between each swimmer when pushing off the wall (or as per the coach’s instructions).
    3. Take the prescribed recovery. Sets are designed by our coaches to achieve a specific aim for that session. If swimmers at the front of the lane start taking less/more recovery it has a ripple effect and changes the session for all.
    4. If you need to take a rest between sets, please stand to the side to let the group pass.
    5. Personal hygiene – nobody wants to swim with the unwashed! Please make sure to have a shower before you enter the pool.

Anyone with questions about any of the above please send myself, Danielle or Sean (training leads) or Debbie (swim captain) a message.

    Thanks, Adele
