It looks like the parking arrangements at UCD have changed or are in the process of changing. What was the free car park (on the right) when entering from Clonskeagh Road is now “Permit Holders” only and is for students, staff etc. who have a permit. The other car park on the left remains pay and display and is effective from 8AM every day.
So if you go to swimming in UCD, don’t park in what used to be the free car park as you may well get clamped if you don’t have a permit. If you use the other car park, you need to stick some money in the machine to buy time to be out of the pool and away. The same will apply in the evenings for the run session.
This is my understanding based on a friendly chat with two chaps in high viz vests at the ticket machine this morning.
Wherever you normally park at UCD, I recommend that you double check what the arrangements are so that you don’t get caught out if there have been changes made in all areas.
