Dear Piranhas!

So many successes and activities in the Club are enhanced by the generosity, experience and time that Club Members give through volunteering, in so many different forms. It has long been acknowledged that volunteering is the lifeblood of the club.

To recognise the value of volunteering in the Club, and to encourage and promote this on an ongoing basis, the Committee have decided to introduce a Volunteer of the Month Award…

This will be awarded each month to recognise the commitment, contribution and generosity of a Club Member who has gone above and beyond in volunteering their time and experience for the benefit of the Club.

Volunteer of the Month Award for November goes to…

Louise Dooley

Louise, a native of Wexford, is a Piranha member for over two years now.

As an excellent swimmer herself, she decided to use her skillset to benefit of the whole club.  She volunteered herself as an assistant swim coach without even being asked, this despite having no experience coaching.  Each Monday night since she has been on deck passing on her in-depth knowledge to all members in a friendly, clear and effective manner, like she was coaching all her life!

Congratulations Louise, keep up the good work, it’s much appreciated by all Piranhas.
