Reform Pilates Endurance Circuits

We are pleased to announce a special offer for Piranha members who wish to sign up for Reformers.

Read on for more details.

Reform Pilates’ Endurance Circuits are specifically designed to improve performance in sport. Unlike Pilates mat classes they involve using large pieces of studio apparatus (Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair and Spine Corrector) developed by Joseph Pilates to improve core and back strength through the use of resistance provided by springs. They also work to improve overall flexibility as well as reduce over-reliance on the global muscle groups (often the cause of injury).

These classes have been designed with the needs of triathletes (particularly those in the off-season) in mind. To ensure that everyone benefits they are limited to a maximum of 6 athletes per class. Reform Pilates is commencing a 6 week course of classes for Piranha members on Thursday 13th October at 7pm in their Blackrock studio. The course of classes will cost €90 (€15 per class instead of the usual rate of €18) and you will have 8 weeks to complete to course (to allow for holidays, illness etc). If you would like to sign up please contact Anna Frankland at anna@reformpilates.ie.

Anna Frankland

Anna is a co-founder of Piranha Triathlon club. She first discovered Pilates in Sydney (the same place she first discovered triathlon!) when recovering from an injury sustained from triathlon training six years ago. Prior to her discovery she spent most of her time training and competing in triathlons at a national and international level (2003/4 ITU European Cup races, 2004 French national series, Sports Council funded athlete) in Ireland . Anna believes that had she found Pilates sooner it could have greatly helped to prevent the many injuries which resulted in her having to take time off from training.

She holds a Diploma in Professional Pilates having trained in both Studio and Mat Pilates with Polestar Pilates, an international training body with headquarters in the US and a training centre in Sydney. Polestar is a year-long intensive training course, which provides students with all the necessary knowledge and tools to be effective teachers.

She has also studied Anatomy and Physiology at Nature Care College in Sydney.

Anna has worked in a number of Pilates studios in Sydney teaching over 600 hours of classes. She also established her own corporate Pilates business bringing the benefits of mat based Pilates to Sydney’s corporate sector before returning home in 2011 to establish Reform Pilates (www.reformpilates.ie) in Blackrock.
