Congrats to everyone who did the aquathlon last night as their first ever race 🙂

Also congrats to prize winners James Hoare – 1st Place Long Race, Tara Whyte – 2nd Place Short Race and Pippy LS / Jenny Swan – 4th Place Short… after she did the Wicklow 200 on Sunday and a Sprint on Saturday.

Thanks Sinead for a great session on Friday and to the 18 people who turned up for slightly more-choppy-than-usual sea conditions at Seapoint!!

Agree with what Brendan has just said. And if anyone is very nervous sea swimming, Seapoint is a great place to go with a friend – the area to the right of the Martello tower is a great place to practice (where Sinead ran her session). Swim from the railings over to the railings about 100m further to the right (avoiding the rock in the middle!) – it’s shallow enough that you can stand when you need to. Check you’ve got high tide before you go 🙂

Feeling ready for a little bit of a race? Howth Aquathlon starts tomorrow (Monday 9th June). See here:

Just signed up for the 1,000m swim. Hopefully lots of newer members signing up for this 🙂 – either the 1,000m or the shorter 500m. If you’re doing the longer one don’t forget to stay around and cheer on for people doing the 500m. See ye there!

Registration before midnight: €21.40 (incl. handling fee). Register on the day 6pm-7pm: €25.

And sounds like there will be a few good swimmers from Piranha going to Seapoint at the same time on Friday also! So you’ll have company Ellen!
