    I’m in

Piranha running gear is really great – do we have time of an order?? It would be great if we could all run in club colours.

    Can the plan be shared?
Put Alan down for a long run on the 3rd Sunday in September, he’ll be free.

I’m in!! I’m very very excited abou this! Perhaps too excited-I don’t even particularly like running! I always said I’d never even do a marathon (my doctor friend told me the other day that it actually lowers your life expectancy but she’s just jealous)! So in answer to your question tadhg yes and yes!
    Yours in over enthusiasm,
    Pet 😀

YES to marathon and YES to fitness test.

And if we can get an order in for Piranha Running Gear in time for delivery before the marathon,
    I’ll be ordering gear too…

    Cheers,
    Fergal.

    Hey Tadhg,

    Thanks for posting up about it 🙂 As you know – I’m a “Yes” for the marathon – have signed up already. It only gets more expensive as the time draws closer, so get your registration in now! http://dublinmarathon.ie/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

I’ve done lactate testing before with Bernard in TCD. Cost €60. There wouldn’t be any bulk discount available, and as far as I know he only does tests during the day (my one was at 9am on a Monday). But it is a very thorough test – taking blood samples while you run on a threadmill, and then he prescribes a very specific set of heart rate zones for you to train in.

    Sounds good Tadhg,

I would be game for both too, looks like we’ll have a great group for it. (Thinking about the night out after..!)

Here is who is in at this point

    1. James – who woke up at 1am this morning to post up he was doing this race
    2. Hugh – I just did a 38 minute 10k
    3. Fergal Daly- holding back all year for this race
    4. Sheila- potentially sitting on the fence
    5. Brian Cahill- who hasn’t been to a run session but thinks this is a good way to start
    6. Rob MC Donald- who just need to sort out his race schedule
    7. Jonathan Hogan – just a small matter of a Ironman (Denmark I think) before he gets down to business
    8. Valerie Clinton-no stranger to the marathon
    9. Niamh Tucker- our bookie for the race
    10. Bernard- who want us all to look well for the race
    11. Paul O D- who thinks Alan will be free all September
    12. Gerry V- who will finish this years race
    13. Maros Jakab- has the smiley face already
    14. Petrina –who is a little excited about it…yes and yes
    15. Darragh K- No stranger to the marathon and another who is holding back
    16. Sharon –Never Mind the wedding plans
    17. Rory- Steady
    18. Sean – who is off booking the half marathon already
    19. Ellen – who has just decided to do it and needs to realise that the Micheal Jackson impressions are done by those who haven’t trained with Maria
    20. Louise – climbing down off the fence as we speak
    21. Dani Tonge- who is still claiming to be a new piranha
    22. Pat Linehan –just fresh from 4.48 in Roth (incredible time)and has put the marker down for sub 4hr Dublin
    23. Alan Duggan- not much that you can say here- easily lead astray seams to struggle with the idea that all the weddings are holding him back and claims to a fresh start every Tuesday evening (once recovered) also has a incredible belief that mayo are going to be in Croke park in September again
    24. Myself –injured… down but not out (yet)

I know there are a few more out there …let us know 💡

Hugh is going to check out the detail on the testing and will post up on this
