Keymaster@Ivan and Simon ….follow the instructions! …. you can either be at WW for 7 SHARP or at Marine for 7:20 …. I am not looking out for stragglers!
Plus I need to know if I have to wait at WW at all …. hence the request for confirmation on people’s plans.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh this is not rocket science!!!
With love

Keymaster@phil – you can have my place – something very last minute has come up that I cannot get out of …. so have to bail.

Keymaster@John – I had a look on the “Who’s in” section on Athy website (also referenced in the main post) and found the following under the Village Idiots section..
Registered On First Name / Team Name Surname Race Entered
21/05/2015 21:03 john lyons TRYAthy (Individual)So you are in …. no need to panic – however like Cathal and Ciara for some reason they do not have you down as a Piranha – so when registering on the day – ask them to take note/update their records to indicate you are in fact a flesh eating fish
Good luck

Keymaster@Barry – from previous post
Yes results are in ….
1) Austria – 32% – 8 votes
2) Barcelona – 24% – 6 votes
3) Mallorca – 16% – 4 votes…..
8) Lanzarote gets 1 vote (wonder who that was!)So what does this mean ….. well nothing really! As we had 24 people com-might-menting to Ironman 2016 but the votes were very distributed over 9 races.

KeymasterOk another potential date for the Q&A would be 20th June if that might suit people better….
But the sooner the chat is had the better – as a lot of the 2016 slots go on sale the day after the race themselves and some of the races under consideration are in June…

Keymaster@Darragh – For me I would not do an Ironman in Dublin – as part of the whole experience for me racing in a foreign city in hopefully warm climate ….
Besides the roads are better on the continent!
Just one man’s opinion.

Keymaster@Darragh …. stick to the script chief – this is for 2016 people!
But just for your benefit
Tips for Roth
1) Don’t do it – too hot
2) Don’t do it – too hilly
3) Don’t do it – logistics are a nightmareDid you not read any of the 14 race reports from last year???
Errr aside from that – have a good time pal!
Mischievous me

KeymasterYes Ger you are not wrong – I am completely the best man for the job ….
Problem is I am the best man for all the jobs ….
So what I willcommit to doing – and this is what I have done in the past – if enough interest is organise an Ironman presentation and talk interested people through what is involved in the IM Journey for 2016….
And at the end of it – I will outline how we approached the Roth gig in terms of people volunteering to help out in terms of taking point on agreeing a club race, race entry, SMTB, researching flights/accommodation options etc – that is where I would expect people to step up to the mark and share the load
It cannot be the best looking and most intelligent people in the club doing all the work – all the time …. I need minions 😉
Despicable me

KeymasterThanks for organising Emer – shame you are not around to enjoy the fruits of your labour but am sure a Costa Rican beach will just have to suffice

KeymasterI suspect the urge to nod off will be strongly linked to Mooney’s chat……

So what should happen next ….
a) I would like someone to volunteer as IM co-ordinator for 2016 – this person would be responsible for helping guide the group to a more clear consensus on a club race …..
b) Next step for the co-ordinator would be a short list of 3 races with a clearer list of pros/cons for people to select from.
c) Once agreed – the co-ordinator would help remind/corral the group to meet the necessary sign up timetableSo who wants the co-ordinator role?
