Volunteering at Piranha Tri Club

January 3, 2015 Leave your thoughts Posted under

Hi everyone,

As Bernard mentioned at the AGM this year, the committee would like to get more members involved in the volunteering process at Piranha.   By giving everyone a clear idea of what’s involved, and equipping volunteers with appropriate resources, we can achieve a greater participation in the running of the club.  We want volunteering to be an enjoyable and gratifying experience for all.

The Club is looking to create 4 panels of volunteers in the areas of Assistant Swim Coach, Bike Leader, Assistant Run Coach and New Member Buddies.   Each panel will be lead by the discipline captains who will both maintain the rota of when people are volunteering and provide resources and guidance to support volunteers.

If you are interested in finding out more about participating in one or more of the panels, please complete this survey (click here) by Sunday, 11th January.  For the coaching roles some qualification (TI, Swim Ireland, Cycling Ireland) is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

Please find below a little more information on each panel:

Assistant Swim Coach

Coordinator – Swim Captain, Paul O’Donovan

Volunteer hours per week – 4 WW sessions (Tue, Thu, Fri and Sat)

Maximum requirement per volunteer – 1 hour per week

Bike Leader

Coordinator – Bike Captain – Ryan Paetzold

Volunteer hours per week – 2 coaches each Sunday for club cycle

Assistant Run Coach

Coordinator – Run Captain – Brendan O’Brien

Volunteer hours per week – 2 sessions – UCD Tue and WW Sat

Maximum requirement per volunteer – 1 hour per week

New Member Buddies

Coordinators – New to Tri team – Paul Mooney and Niamh Tucker

Objective: to support assigned new members as they find their feet in the club

Hope to see you helping out in the near future!

All the best,

Your Committee
